Financial Aid Information Session
The Guidance Office will be offering a financial aid information session during Parent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, April 9th from 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. in the auditorium for interested students and parents. This event is geared towards juniors, however any interested students and parents are welcome to attend.
The 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available in the fall of 2024. Now is the time to become familiar with the financial aid process for post-secondary education. The Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) will be here to answer your questions and help you navigate this process. We’ll be joined by FAME presenter, Jessica Whittier, a College Access Counselor with more than 20 years of experience in helping students plan and pay for college.
If you are interested in attending this event, please be sure to book your conferences around this time frame.

Dear RSU Families,
I write to you this morning with a heavy heart, still grappling with the shock and sadness
that has befallen our communities. The impact of this incident weighs heavily on all of
us, and my thoughts are with each and every one of you during this challenging time.
In the wake of this devastating incident, I want to assure you that the safety and
well-being of our students, staff, and families remain our top priority. The Assistant
Superintendent and I are meeting with area Superintendents this morning. We are also
monitoring local law enforcement updates. In addition, we will be meeting with building
administrators and staff later today to plan and prepare our next steps. We will provide
families with updates later this afternoon.
Below is a one pager from NASP, “Talking with Children about Violence: Tips for
Educators and Families” as a resource. You can also access the Maine Crisis Line
(MCL) 1-888-568-1112 for mental health support.
In times of adversity, our strength lies in our unity and support for one another. Together,
we will navigate through this challenging time, and emerge stronger as a community.
Your resilience and dedication to our students are deeply appreciated.
Take care of yourselves and each other.
Katy
